Are federalism, democracy, and socialism useful when one world government really happens?
Every human brain is different. But, in order for there to be one world government without oppression, the brains of the people would have to think similarly. This is why I believe the following Catholic concept is on point:
Subsidiarity: (in the Roman Catholic Church) a principle of social doctrine that all social bodies exist for the sake of the individual so that what individuals are able to do, society should not take over, and what small societies can do, larger societies should not take over.
Even if it were possible to get the people thinking the same way for a moment, different experiences will again, and in time, produce different brains. I suppose that this is the attraction of socialism. Dependency can be used to produce obedience even when brains are, and tend to be, different.
Finally, civilization is not possible with monolithic thinking. Monolithic thinking produced the Neanderthals. Lacking a pre-frontal cortex, they could not reason. Yet, Neanderthal hominids survived 300K+ years with little change—but only in small hunter/gatherer tribes. Once the Sapiens arrived (in Eurasia), the civilization builders, the Neanderthals faded away.
However, successful civilization tends to dampen the development of reason. Or:
- Hardship produces reason (in Sapiens);
- Reason produces wealth;
- Wealth produces entitlement;
- Entitlement fails reason;
- A lack of reason produces hardship.
One world government will therefore never happen. I am sure that there are those that will try, and many millions will die and suffer because of it. Because … 5. A lack of reason produces hardship.
