Are social problems solvable with mathematics and computers?
No. The problems people create are created in their irrationality, and computers follow rules.
In other words, there is no rational reason for problems to exist (other than acts of God like volcanos, meteors, disease, etc.). If the brains of people understood reality perfectly, then they would not incur or produce problems from which they suffer. Moreover, the irrational brains of people go in many directions because they are not, in general, directed by truth. This diversity of thought makes planning for human problem-making completely beyond the capacity of rules-based systems like computers or mathematical systems.
