Key concepts: Humans are mostly tribal. This occurs when humans come together with a shared set of
“immutable” (woke) truths. Tribes propagandize to promote their truths while censoring to suppress competing ones. I suspect that all human conflict arises from competing belief systems. Free speech is essential because it prevents ideas from solidifying into uncivil, rigid cognitive patterns.
Tribal thinkers are stuck in old ways of thinking and are likewise unable to participate in developing new, better ones (problem-solving). Therefore, they are necessarily left behind as civilization evolves. These are the Marxists (atheists and Islamists). Marx called their cognitive problem, of sorts, dialectical materialism.
The Marxist tribe, specifically, is thus a tribe of victims. The only truth they really share is that civilization is leaving them behind. Therefore, they promote perpetual revolution so that they are not excluded from the wealth created by civilization or victimized (oppressed) by the new thinking of the wealth creators (problem-solvers). In truth, civilization is the perpetual (problem-solving) revolution. Marxists are the dismantling counter-revolutionaries. So how funny is that?
The Islamists are also tribal, but they are different in a key and revealing way. They possess a more developed belief system. It stems from their belief that the Quran is the word of God. Sharia Law is the societal manifestation of it.
At present, President Trump is rapidly advancing civilization. So tribal thinkers writ large have their hair on fire. Consequently, they come together to defeat him/M*GA. After all, Trump has already vanquished the Globalists (the EU is mortally wounded). It was a tribal system based on climate change. This was their truth. What remains, in terms of large tribal systems, are the Marxists (backed by China) and the Islamists (backed by Iran et al). They ally to preserve their tribal way of life. Both are jingoistic.
If civilization were ever dismantled, and if Islam and Marxism were co-mingled, Islam would overrun Marxism instantly. This would happen because Islam has a belief system, whereas Marxism, with civilization gone, would not.
FINALLY, civilization does not possess truth. This is how it is different from tribalism. However, it pursues it to solve problems. It is rational and thus cannot be jingoistic (propagandizing its truths and censoring competing ones). Crucially, it must recognize that there is absolute truth. This is the value of monotheism, or America’s pluralistic monotheism. Free minds (non-woke) are only possible within it. Secularism does not systematically achieve this. It produces narcissists.
