Quora: Why isn’t pure logic considered empirical?
It is.
The empirical observation is that a healthy mind cannot make decisions without logic, and, regrettably, many minds are not healthy.
The reason some people appear illogical is that their cognitive habits (their beliefs) were not formed with reason, which would ensure a coherent cognitive foundation. In other words, they have not assembled a puzzle; they possess hoarder minds. They collect beliefs; they do not develop a picture.
This latter observation is some empirical evidence for reason.
Where logic is used to identify single truths within the brain for decision-making based on immediate environmental input. Reason is used to develop understandings, which are used to predict future truths that might arise from future environmental inputs. This is wisdom.
