The problem we see today is success-induced dysrationality. Hardship (suffering) developed our brains through problem-solving. Entitlement undermines this development because, by and large, problems have been momentarily eliminated.
This is the Biblical lesson of the Tower of Babel. Babylonia was immensely successful. I mean, VERY successful. The Babylonians built ziggurates to celebrate this success. However, eventually, human minds stopped acquiring free will, and society, again, descended into tribalism.
The Tower of Babel is a perfect metaphor. FYI, the Bible has documented this rationality-dysrationality struggle encompassing thousands of years. It is a very important book to understand.
