Military spending is a symptom; it is not the cause.
World peace requires “truth-first” thinkers (rational people) since objective truth is the unifier. This is achieved in the pursuit (not possession) of absolute truth or the Creator’s truth.
Presently, the pursuit of truth is difficult because most people are postmodern, and this trend is growing. These individuals do not know how to contemplate objective truth, recognizing only subjective truth. Therefore, broadly, these individuals are socially indoctrinated because they have to get their truth from someone. Some become Marxists (Marx as truth). In the worst case, they remain as narcissistic as they once were as infants (SELF as truth).
Sometimes, dysrational thinkers (not truth-first) are programmed to accept what the group declares as absolute truth. Islam does this. This indoctrination makes victims (oppressed people). They are tribal, emotional, and violent.
This is the reason for the dysrational behavior, and the military is an unavoidable byproduct.
Furthermore, dysrational behavior is widespread. Islam, 2 billion people (25% of the world population), is one example. How will that be changed? The cause of Islamic dysrationality is the fact that Islam declares the Quran absolute truth. In other words, it is intrinsic to the faith. This is not easily corrected.
