Why does human understanding of reality vary?

How is it that different people can possibly see the same world and have such differing ideas and beliefs about what they see?

Our brains build the interpretation tools for understanding the world around us. The building begins very early in life; likely even in utero. In the beginning, the brain is almost a blank slate. Since the brain’s understanding is primarily based upon actual reality, our brains evolve similarly. But not everything relates to material objects that our senses mostly perceive similarly (setting aside differences in sight, hearing, etc.). Some understandings require interpretation (like behavior of systems, relationships, etc.). Since our direct life and educational experiences vary, our brain’s understandings vary. Future interpretations of reality will be accordingly affected.
