What can we do to educate terrorists to understand that everyone else has a different view of what they think and should be allowed to express and live their own life too?
Sadly, we can’t do anything directly.
Life, under the right circumstances, will.
But this is why petro-states are so problematic. There, wealth comes from the ground. Bad decision making thus has no immediate accountability. Leaders can mollify the people with payments, so those societies become trapped.
Imagine trying to correct the behavior of a neighboring dysfunctional family. It is nearly impossible.
Nevertheless, borders are important so that broken societies cannot wreak havoc across the globe. The best thing to do is set a good example. In other words, focus on the societal self. Well run countries can help by making their thinking explicit. In time, others should follow. That is, so long as their wealth comes from the people, and not the ground.
