Is there more misinformation or more truth now due to social media & other platforms than say 20 years ago?

Is there more misinformation or more truth now due to social media & other platforms than say 20 years ago? Like when we were told Iraq had & was actively developing WMD’s, would we believe it so easily with all the information we have access to now?

Social media has a monopoly. The monopolists use that power to distort the truth. They shouldn’t. They many people WILL ALWAYS make better decisions than the monopolists, even when some data is incorrect.

Anyway, what is misinformation? Isn’t that label a form of censorship?

Put it all out there. Let the people learn to think. In time, the many will come to the best conclusion. And, in the rare situation they don’t, the many will correct and make better decisions in the future.

That’s the process.
