The irrational (there is a pandemic of it) don’t reason. That is, they will not allow you to have your subjective truth (the only human right). The only way the irrational reach objective truth for their world is to oppress your subjective truths. Rational people reconcile them with other rational people.
Therefore, with irrational people, one must maintain the power to conceal their thoughts from the irrational.
Look at the Taliban. They are exceedingly irrational, they will oppresses your “wrong” thoughts through execution. So have the communists, Marxists, Critical Theorists, … And, yes, once and presently, some religions (e.g. the Inquisition, militant Islamism).
Irrationality is human nature, because reason is developmental.
