How can the media actually be dangerous to society?
I do not think they are. Big tech is.
People are people. They are often irrational (seeing only one point of view). And yet, people drive the media. We have to live with this.
However, so long as views are not oppressed (in America they are increasingly by big tech), then what is said to mislead will eventually only harm and discredit itself: Because lies are loud and compelling, but truth is resolute.
In other words, hearing the wrong thing is unfortunate. However, not hearing the right thing is a big problem. Hence, the censors. Adding more propagandists makes little difference.
