How can law and order, which most of the time restrains us, give us the true sense of freedom?

Well first, the American justice system has, over time, become increasingly oppressive. So often now, the legal system is used to define the terms of the people’s care, that is, defining how the government’s resources are to be collected and redistributed. Part of this stems from the legal system’s evolution to one that purports to create JUSTICE. That is, to create fairness. Here, freedom always slips away. This is because the Government has become a direct participant in relationships between people. For freedom, this is unwelcome. As a result, the people, no longer self reliant and self governing, eventually need coercive constraints on their behavior.

Instead, a proper legal system should exist to frame the relationships between people only—like a social contract. The government should have no redistributive role. The governments purpose here is to offer a remedy for INJUSTICE. Freedom will be thus preserved and maximized.

Any system that proports to create justice will necessarily limit freedom.

For freedom, the legal system, and the laws created by the people, must correct for, and limit, injustice. And nothing more.
